Our Programs at Pleasant Day Schools
You begin a child’s education as early as infancy and nurture it into early adulthood. The ages between infancy and five are truly formative. With that said, it’s essential to make a proactive choice on where your child receives their early education.
Each of our programs are age-specific and designed to help your child meet essential milestones in their development. Here’s a closer look at what we offer:
What You Can Expect
Your child’s formal education begins at Pleasant Day School. We help your child learn how to reason, and problem solve all while fostering their physical and social development. Your child will learn math, reading, speech, art, and much more.
Since 1986, teachers and childcare providers have practiced the values of HighReach learning. Here at PDS, we believe every child’s education begins at birth and evolves throughout all stages of development. A child’s growth and development is entirely unique, and we strive to help each child reach their fullest potential through playtime, purposeful activity, and social interaction.
Early Education Programs for Every Child
Has your family recently grown? Having a baby is an exciting time in a family’s life. But many new parents find themselves having to return to the workplace soon after giving birth.
Our infant program brings peace of mind to new parents. You can feel confident knowing your baby is safe and well-cared for in our facility. We’ll help make the transition from home to daycare go as smoothly as possible while providing the environment your baby needs to grow and develop.
At our facility, your baby will learn to babble, hold objects, rollover, and much more. They’ll also learn how to crawl, say words, and play with others.
Do you have a tumbling toddler who keeps you on your toes? The ages of 1 to 3 are as fundamental as they are action-packed. These are the years where your toddler will need to learn their cognitive and social skills, and we’re geared to facilitate growth in these areas.
Your toddler will practice feeding themselves, speaking, and recognizing objects and people around them. Your toddler will learn colors, numbers, how to run, and how to share their toys with others, all while having fun in the process.
Your little one isn’t so little anymore. If your child is between the ages three and five, it’s time to start thinking about preschool. Before you know it, your child will be attending their first day of kindergarten, and you want to make sure they have the footing they need to succeed.
For over a decade, our preschool in Morgantown, WV, has helped young children transition into a classroom setting. We teach our preschoolers a variety of skills in a structured and stimulating environment. By the time kindergarten rolls around, your child will be ready to thrive.
Before and After School
The school day may have ended, but that doesn’t mean your child should hit the pause button on their education. Parents can’t always be there early in the morning or after the school bell rings. But with the PDS Before and After School program, we’ll make sure your child stays active and stimulated when they’re not in the classroom.
We’ll help your child get the fresh start they need to excel throughout the school day. We’ll help them get started on their homework, leaving your family more time in the evening to bond. Your child will also have fun choosing from a variety of activities to enjoy before and after school.
Several elementary and middle school buses pick up and drop off for our before and after school program. Please call us at 304-292-8078 to find out more.
Every child looks forward to the sunny and fun-filled summertime. But it’s easy for kids to spend their summer vacations in front of their tablets or the TV, especially when you’re at work during the day.
Our summer program makes sure your child stays physically and mentally active throughout the summer months. They’ll enjoy playing with their peers, participating in summer activities, playing sports, doing arts and crafts, and so much more.
The PDS Summer Program is open to children who have completed kindergarten and runs from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday.
